Finance

Our main source of income is from our members' subscriptions. Current rates are £25 a term for Cubs and Scouts and £20 for Beavers. We collect toner and inkjet cartridges and mobile phones for recycling. Grant aid is sometimes available to us for capital expenditure, but not for the day to day running of the Group. We also operate the Gift Aid scheme.
Additionally, we have to collect an annual membership fee on behalf of the Scout Association, which we pass on to District, for further transmission via County to the national Association. This year the fee is about £22.50 per member.
If you are paying money to us by cheque, please make it payable to "24th Hastings Scouts".
Our financial year runs from 1st March to 28/29th February.

Management

The Group's affairs are run by an executive committee, our Charity Trustees. This committee is partly appointed by the Group Scout Leader, and partly elected by the parents at the AGM. The Section Leaders are members of this committee; William Parker Sports College and the Phoenix Explorer Unit are also represented.
The Group Scout Leader appoints the Chairman, and the Treasurer and Secretary are elected at the AGM.
We issue an annual report and audited statement of accounts, and we aim to have this available at the AGM. We also send it out to a great many old Scouts and other former members. If you would like to be placed on our mailing list, please contact the GSL. Anyone has the right to a copy of our accounts - apply to the Treasurer. Non-members are required to pay an administration charge of £2.

Location

You will find the HQ in the grounds of William Parker School, next door to the Hastings and Bexhill Rugby Club.
Approach via Park Avenue, go past to the right of the School buildings and up to the playground. You can park here in the evening. Then walk up the steps; you can see our HQ in front of you.
